    l ace ashfield
D.O.B. May 5
AGE 18 years old
ORIENTATION Heterosexual

TIME AT CAMP 5 years
TYPE OF CAMPER Ace spent summers at camp during his first three years and began to attend all year round once he turned sixteen.

OLYMPIAN PARENT Hades, the god of the dead
CLAIM STATU. Claimed as of the 6th day of the 2nd week of his 3rd summer at camp.

Lina Ashfield (Occupation: Singer/Actress) l A quiet, bookish, and endearing woman. A busy but uncomplaining mother. A kindred spirit.
Jack Ashfield (Occupation: Business entrepreneur) l A mellow and patient man. A kind and dependable step-father. A trustworthy and tolerant alibi.
Morgan Jamison (Occupation: Caterer) l An empathetic, energetic, and plucky woman. A passionate and devoted aunt. A legendary soup maker.

Savannah Ashfield (16, step-sister), Lydia Jamison (16, cousin), Violet Jamison (14, cousin), Melanie Jamison (18, cousin).

The kids in his family were always far from angels. They would get in trouble often and wreaked havoc wherever they went. They didn't make things easy for the adults at all. Despite this, the family was quite close-knit and though fight they did, they all did love each other unconditionally. Ace and Savannah probably fought the least of all the people in the family, being very tolerant of each others' more annoying quirks and therefore, the best of friends.

Ace barely remembers the time before Jack and Savannah became permanent fissures in their lives. Lina and Jack were married when he was 10 but the memories he made after that age always seemed to outshine the ones made before it. Savannah always seemed to need protecting, and Ace enjoyed being an actual older brother for once - even though he had always had his cousins to look after.

Once he turned sixteen and was claimed, Ace began to stay at camp all year-round due to his status as a child of a Big Three god. Despite the fact that he all but completely hated his father, he wanted to keep the rest of his family safe from any more monsters that may attack their home because of him. He tried to limit his visits and how much he contacted them in order to assure their well-being. Ace often misses them all terribly. Although he would have everyone else believe that he prefers to be isolated and alone, he loves his family very much.

Ace stands at the height of 6'1" and has a muscled, toned build - although he was quite the scrawny little runt when he got to camp. He has jet black hair that is kept in an eternally messy state and a short haircut. He has penetrating gunmetal grey eyes that look a little on the stern and cold side though every once in a while, they will smile along with the rest of his face. His eyes are generally a little cloudy and they often look angry even when he's not. He often finds himself wishing his eyes were blue like his mother's.

Ace's skin is lightly tanned and on his arm is a small, intricate black tattoo. His hands and fingers are callused and rough. Oddly enough, Ace has amazing posture for the most part, although he will slump on the odd occasion. He also has prominent and broad cheekbones and a chiseled jawline. He has several scars, a few cuts on his arms and one short, pale slash on his cheekbone, as well as a few on his legs. Ace is generally very low-maintenance when it comes to his appearance - with the exception of his hygiene, of course. This usually means he's often wearing the orange camp shirt, a regular pair of jeans, and a well-worn pair of Chuck Taylors.

Ace Ashfield is not the most social or friendly person in Camp Half-Blood, that's for sure. He can be quite cold and sarcastic, and a bit too impulsive for his own good. Hostile and sardonic towards others, Ace doesn't exactly have oodles of friends. He's organized and intelligent, but slightly obsessive when it comes to organization, though he doesn't seem to be aware of this. Ace tends to be a little on the sensitive side when being teased, his pride is easy to buise. In general, he knows an impressive amount of curses, both in Ancient Greek and English.

If you haven't already guessed, he's a loner and very independent. Ace is a creature of habit and he likes it when things have a specific order. He might be quick to judge someone and first impressions weigh a lot, in his opinion. He is strong-willed and very opinionated. However, he will try to keep most of his opinions to himself - unless you ask for them. If you ask for his opinion, don't expect him to sugar coat things for you if you can't handle criticism, his critiques will be either constructive or not, be braced for the latter. His opinions are unfiltered and blunt. He finds people who can't take criticism weak.

Ace is also courageous and confident in his abilities. He acknowledges the fact that he can't do everything but that doesn't mean that he is willing to be content with this fact. He is constantly pushing his limits and trying to improve. Although most demigods are rebellious, Ace prefers to stick by the rules and he rarely breaks them unless he deems it necessary. He can be quite rude and mean as well, it depends on his mood really. Pleasant one moment, ripping out your throat the next. Ace's emotions are not something to be played with.

Peer pressure does not work on him. He hates it when people try to force him to do anything or influence his decision. He finds people who try to change him a waste of his time and will wash his hands of them immediately. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, he knows where his interests are morally. Ace prefers not to listen to other people and opts for listening to his own gut feelings. Despite this fact, Ace has poor judgment at times and he will not make the best decisions he could 100% of the time. He is quick-tempered and sharp-tongued as well as quick to defend himself and offend others when he feels insulted.

He often comes across as grumpy and gruff. He's also guarded, distant, and stubborn. But Ace is also capable of being understanding, thoughtful, and even nice if someone persuades him to give them a chance. He's unfriendly at first, but eventually, he can become someone to talk to, someone who will listen, and who will be there when you need him. If he's anything, he's a honest person and a patient listener. In fact, he prefers to be a listener, the gods know he would rather be ranted to for hours rather than being expected to be a good conversation partner or a lively conversationalist.

Despite all this, he would rather not make friends at all - he is quite aware of what his fatal flaw is. When it comes to friendships, he is reluctant to trust others or to let them get to close, leading to fighting and frustration. Taking Ace on as a friend is often more trouble than it's worth because he doesn't really want friends. For the most part, he's okay with being alone - he's resigned with the fact that staying away is probably for both their own good as well as his.

Ace is a sturdy and stable guy, if someone needs him to be there, he will be there - no doubt about it. He is a dedicated and persistent person, he will see things to their end and he very rarely gives up on things. Ace hates weakness and he hates being seen as weak. He spites people who pity him and he is less than fond of his half-siblings because of this fact. Ace makes little to no effort to befriend others in general, preferring to keep to himself. He is generally apathetic and aloof toward other people, searching for the best ways to drive them away and keep them away.
HAMARTIA Ace would die for a family member or for a close friend. Because of this, he tries to distance himself from people - but to no avail, that doesn't change how he feels about them.

Raspberry pie l The type of pie that Lina Ashfield and Morgan Jamison would work together to make exactly twice a year - once in the middle of the summer and then again for Christmas. A recipe passed down through the generations of Jamison women.
Hot chocolate l The Ashfield-Jamison family would drink cups of hot chocolate in front of the fireplace in the living room on particularly cold winter days.
