BRIEF HISTORY
When Iris was younger, she was hardly the slim and beautiful daughter of Aphrodite that you might expect. Iris was a huge fan of food of any kind, she would constantly snack on chips, candy, whatever she could get her hands on. Now, this wouldn't have been a problem for a kid who liked to run around a lot - she could have eaten whatever she wanted and gotten away with it. Unfortunately, Iris was not a huge fan of running around and participating in sporty activities, despite the ADHD. She preferred to keep to herself - making jewelry and crude artwork at school and watching TV when she got home. Due to a woefully slow metabolism by nature, Iris was quite the chubby little girl.

Kids being kids, it was only natural that she was teased and bullied. She was largely antisocial and had few friends in school. While the few that she did have didn't help or encourage the bullies, they did little to make it any better. But how could a bunch of kids know any better? And so, Iris endured her days in elementary and then middle school. She didn't know how to or particularly want to tell her father and so, she kept quiet. When he asked about her day at school, she said that everything was fine, she had a pop quiz but she think she managed to get at least a B, and she might go out to the mall later with a friend.

Years of getting bullied over her weight and her Dyslexia was bound to affect her mindset, however, and the summer before her freshman year, she finally lost the excess weight. She didn't suddenly become popular or anything dramatic like that, she still remained antisocial and kept to herself for the most part, making one or two friends in every class because she needed to for projects and such. The bullies kept off of her back, though, and that was all that Iris had ever really wanted. After she reached camp, she was elated that she would be getting a fresh start. She made friends and even had a boyfriend within her first year. It wasn't until her first heartbreak and betrayal within the same year that she began to realize just how much she had always resented other people.

APPEARANCE
Iris is 5'5" and has a slim but toned build from exercising regularly even before entering camp. Her skin is the pinkish pale associated with the sort of skin type that has a tendency to burn rather than tan after staying in the sun for too long. She has wavy golden blonde hair that ends around her hips, with slightly overgrown side-swept bangs. Iris has striking bright blue eyes that are often cold. There's usually some sort of snide or condescending look on her face. She wears make-up like any other daughter of Aphrodite.

Rather than having epic battle scars, Iris has pale stretch marks on her upper arms and her thighs, causing her to avoid wearing shorts and tank tops/t-shirts. Despite these restrictions, Iris is still quite a bit of a fashionista, though not the kind that enjoys brands that are too expensive. She usually wears brands that are trendy but still affordable - being raised in a middle-class household did that to her. She's a big fan of accessorizing and rarely goes out without an additional ornament paired with her outfit. Iris often sports a bitter and false smile.

PERSONALITY
Iris will seem like a typical daughter of Aphrodite, but in reality, she is much more hostile and cruel. She may seem vain but that isn't necessarily the case, although she can certainly be cocky and at times, overconfident. Due to a history of being the one who was constantly teased, she finds satisfaction is seeing other people squirm. She often goes out of her way in order to ruin someone else's day. Any nice deed that she may do most likely has an ulterior motive behind it. Derisive and cynical, she will often be rude and offensive and she cares little for what others may think of it or how they feel about it. Iris will either act sickly sweet and condescending or just plain cold and callous.

A lone wolf, she has very few friends if any and often uses and mistreats those friends to her leisure. She prefers not to have any friends, regarding them as impractical and undependable. She is deceptive and is not above lying to others to get her way. As for her opinions on her mother's domain, Iris regards love as one of the more useless and frivolous feelings and thinks of beauty as a tool. Even so, she does feel a certain affection for her mother and as a result, usually treats her half-siblings better than she would treat any other campers (Although this doesn't mean that she is, by any means, nice to them all the time). She's competitive in a quiet way. She will rarely openly show that is jealous of another person, but she is bothered when other people seem to best her, often training hard by herself in order to improve. Iris is hard on herself when it comes to training and improving, she pushes herself to her very limits.

Iris was always one of those kids who got along famously with their teachers and other authority teachers. She is unafraid of flattering and sucking up to other people in order to get what she wants from them. Having a very low opinion of other people, she could care less about being accepted by her peers and therefore does as she wishes to accomplish things that are convenient for her. She is largely independent, rarely accepting the help of anybody else. Anybody who tries to help her do anything clearly expects something from her. The concept of generosity is never considered. She has extremely low opinions of even strangers. Iris trusts no one. Over the years, she has compiled a list of survival tips for herself, reminding herself of them regularly.

However, Iris is an entirely different person around her father. Her father seems to be the only person who can make her genuinely laugh and smile. Iris wants her father to always be happy because he's the only person who has never let her down. She goes to great lengths to be kind and considerate around her father, often shielding the more unhappy aspects of her life from him. Her father also helped her with her Dyslexia. Although she can't read perfectly, she has read a fair amount of books and can recite quite a few poems. Iris is fairly intelligent, while not par with the children of Athena, she can form decent strategies.

She tries to remain aloof and uncaring for the most part, but she will go to the aid of anyone who is in genuine danger or distress. She is opinionated and doesn't hesitate to tell other people when they are being stupid. Even so, she isn't needlessly argumentative. When she knows that she's right, she finds no need to continue a conversation and will walk away. She tends to be the kind of person who keeps her head and stays calm in uncomfortable or confrontational social situations. She has pride but she doesn't let it control her.
HAMARTIA Her independence, Iris often takes on things that she can't handle by herself and refuses the help of any other people.

AMBROSIA
Nutella cookies l The only type of cookie that her father was capable of baking due to how easy it was. Because they were made by her father, they were her favourite kind of cookie growing up. She doesn't eat them now because her father doesn't make them - respecting her strictly healthy and controlled diet.
NECTAR
Sparkling apple juice l The drink that her father and her would drink every few years or so around Christmas time. She always considered it a particularly special treat.

Since her return to camp, Iris is noticeably quieter and more closed off than before. She's slower to take offence and is unlikely to do anything which requires much effort. While still undoubtedly mean and hurtful, her words seem to have lost most of their heat. She seems resigned and weary, with a more fatalistic view on things. Some previous personality traits still applicable.
